A Washington, D.C., landlord filed a $2.8 million lawsuit against supermodel-turned-entrepreneur Tyra Banks and her business partners Friday, alleging they abandoned plans for a flagship ice cream shop after signing a long-term lease.  The civil complaint, filed in U.S. District Court, claims Banks, her ice cream venture Smize & Dream and partner Louis Martin entered a 10-year commercial lease for retail space in the city’s Eastern Market neighborhood in April 2024.  Instead of opening the Washington location, the lawsuit says Banks and her team dropped the project that summer and shifted attention to a Sydney, Australia, shop. Lease Dispute Over Abandoned Storefront Landlord Christopher Powell asserts in the complaint that he signed the lease expecting long-term tenancy and investment in his property. He says he spent months coordinating with the team about build-out plans.  “Although Mr. Powell made repeated good-faith efforts to resolve this matter amicably, he is now left with deep financial loss,” the lawsuit states. Powell is seeking at least $2,831,331, plus interest, legal fees and other costs allowed under the lease. According to the complaint, Banks and Martin vacated the space in June 2024, stopped paying rent and declined further communication about their obligations. Weeks later, the lawsuit says, a Smize & Dream pop-up appeared nearby while the original lease was still in effect. Banks and her legal team have called the lawsuit meritless. In court filings, they argue the lease was signed by School of SMiZE LLC, not the individuals, and contend the plaintiff’s claims are an “opportunistic ploy by Plaintiff to extort money from Defendants.”  The motion to dismiss also states the defendants raised unresolved property deficiencies as a reason for withdrawing from the lease, claims Powell’s complaint calls false. Plans That Never Materialized Banks launched Smize & Dream in recent years, blending premium ice cream with a mission to empower underserved youth through entrepreneurship.  The Washington location was to serve as a flagship and community incubator, but legal records show it never opened. Instead, the company’s first proper shop now operates in Sydney, where Smize & Dream’s “hot ice cream” concept has attracted attention.

Blueface has once again found himself on the wrong side of the legal system. The rapper now owes over $130,000 to a woman, whom he claimed he had fathered the child with. However, according to My News LA, court documents state that the child’s father is, in fact, Soulja Boy. The woman, Jackilyn Martinez, filed a “writ of execution.” Per the Legal Information Institute, it’s a “court order that directs law enforcement personnel to seize non-exempt property owned by the defendant and sell it at public auction.” According to the outlet, the initial default judgment has increased to $131,655 due to interest. The judge, Peter Hernandez, had already ordered that all “royalties collected by BMI and the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers” will be given to Martinez on the rapper’s behalf to satisfy the money owed to her. The case was brought on after Blueface made several posts suggesting that her 2-year-old child with Soulja Boy was actually his. However, the two, who had dated in the past, hadn’t been romantically linked since 2018. For the initial judgment, Martinez had been awarded with $123,245, which includes $100,00 for her pain and suffering. The opponent has not yet been revealed, though the bout will feature another celebrity fighter. Ticket sales are expected to launch well ahead of the event. According to them, the pair simply spent the time catching up. They also allegedly discussed how to “manage life in this time, to pray, appreciate loved ones, and reflect on the past.” Engelmayer also told the outlet that following the visit, Diddy “continued his introspection” with a few fellow inmates during a private mass. Back in November 2024, Page Six reported that he’s allegedly banned from renting in Los Angeles. A source told the outlet that the 30-year-old had a reputation for partying. He would often “wreck” the houses he rented. “The company that I work with rented houses to Justin. He would say, ‘I’m having 20 people over.’ But there would be 200, and then they would wreck the house,” a Southern California mansion broker told Page Six. “It’s gotten to the point where nobody will rent to him. He called me to rent, and I said no,” he added. However, the source didn’t provide Page Six with exact details about how Combs mistreated properties. The outlet contacted Combs’ attorney, Jeffrey Lichtman, who completely denied any wrongdoing on his part. “Justin has not been charged with a crime or sued civilly regarding any of these accusations for a reason – he did nothing wrong,” the attorney said.

Tyler Perry has been hit with another lawsuit from a second accuser, TMZ reports. According to the outlet, Boo! A Madea Halloween actor, Mario Rodriguez, accused Perry of making unwanted sexual advances, including groping, multiple times. On Thursday (Dec.26), Rodriguez filed the suit in a California courtroom listing Perry and Lionsgate Films as the defendants. The model and actor claims he met the director back in 2015, after a gym trainer approached him and offered to connect him with the director. Later that same day, Rodriguez says he and Perry discussed a script he was working on (which ultimately became Boo! A Madea Halloween), as well as a possible role for him. Despite noting he didn’t have acting experience, he says Perry told him, “You know, Mario, I’m not a bad person to know and have in your corner.” In one interaction, Rodriguez claimed that after being invited into Perry’s home, they were drinking and headed down to his home theater. As he got up to leave, Perry offered him another $5,000. The model and actor are suing for “sexual assault, sexual battery, and emotional distress,” and seeks punitive damages of at least $77,000,000. Perry’s attorney, Alex Shapiro, told TMZ that Rodriguez’s account was nothing more than a “money grab.” He added, “Having recently failed in another matter against Mr. Perry, the very same lawyer has now made yet another demand from more than a decade ago, which will also be a failed money grab.”

I think jersey club music has evolved since the birth of Zeddy Will he makes Jersey club music fun again and makes people wanna dance and enjoy themselves carefree like they used to.  Afro fusion has evolved because now different genres of artist are putting their spin on afro beat music. Which is making it more popular to the masses.  Atl trap music has evolved since Metro Boomin. Who’s one of my favorite producers has returned ATL trap music back to its regional space. The creative risk I took this year was not chasing the more established artist and investing my time in artist developing and helping to build and break new acts such as Honey Bxby, Zeddy Will, and Wesley Franklin.  How have TikTok, Reels, or short-form platforms influenced how producers approach making records in 2025?  I believe it has influenced producers on their approach of making music in 2025. It is simply the the greatest tool to measure & gauge what the kids are into. I believe it’s a direct indicator to what children love the most about music and most times believe it or not TikTok actually trends with great music that people like and not just trendy music sound bites or click bait.  What sounds or trends do you think will dominate and re-emerge in 2026? The sounds that will dominate in 2026 is R&B music and hip-hop music will make a comeback. K-pop music is going to get bigger and I believe we are going to see more boy and girl bands in 2026. I also believe Hip Hop is going to make a come back because it is in the reset phase. I think we’ll see the return of Drake dominating, more great music from future, 21 savage and also new acts like JID & BIG Xthe plug.  Heading into 2026, my focus is on creative dominance and legacy.
